Lifetime Achievement Award
Past AAJ President Kathleen Nastri’s career focuses on medical malpractice, personal injury, and other complex cases. A true fighter for civil justice, Kathleen has won numerous precedent-setting verdicts, including the largest medical malpractice verdict in Connecticut history at one point, for a family whose son suffered a birth injury resulting in cerebral palsy. More recently, she won a significant verdict for the family of a 5-year-old girl who drowned at the Waterbury Boys & Girls Club. In addition to her successful practice, her dedication and commitment to AAJ has been a constant throughout her career. She serves on the AAJ Board of Governors, is the chair of the AAJ PAC Board of Trustees, and is a board member of AAJ’s Education arm, the National College of Advocacy. Kathleen has also held numerous leadership positions with Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, including as its first female president in 2003.
