Failure to warn of asbestos hazards
January 14, 2025Thomas Gaskill served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 and was employed at a New Jersey Mobile Oil refinery from approximately 1973 to 1985. He was later diagnosed as having mesothelioma.
Gaskill and his wife sued John Crane Inc., among others, alleging strict liability failure to warn. The plaintiffs asserted that Gaskill’s illness resulted from his alleged exposure to asbestos from products manufactured, sold, or supplied by numerous companies, including John Crane.
The jury awarded $719,000.
