Negligent kidney transplant surgery
January/February 2025Doe, 61, underwent transplant surgery for the purpose of donating a kidney to her son. During the procedure, her aorta allegedly was punctured with a staple, resulting in severe blood loss. Doe later died of hemorrhage shock.
The claimant asserted an undisclosed defendant was liable for Doe’s wrongful death.
The parties settled for $2.25 million.
